7 Shocking Photos of New York City During Quarantine
I never, EVER thought I’d say this... but COVID-19 has officially made New York City into a ghost town. And it hurts to see her like this.
Today, my family graciously (and carefully) drove me up to NYC to check on my apartment, grab whatever mail was leftover, and pack up some more clothes to bring back to my childhood home. When I left around mid-March to take shelter in New Jersey, I never anticipated being away for this long.
The whole drive through the city, my jaw dropped.
Busy streets - usually full of life and packed to the brim with taxis and tourists- now eerily silent. Folks - normally running errands and enjoying the Spring weather - now fully equipped with masks, glasses, and gloves. Grocery store lines rounded every corner. Playgrounds taped off. Stores shuttered.
You don’t truly realize HOW serious this pandemic has become... until you’re in the heart of it.
Sending my love to the greatest city in the world. I’ve missed you so much.
